English_Spanish.rtf file for translaters that usually help me.

  • I have created a "RTF" file for those who help me translating to different languages, with the last modifications written in blue, bold and underlined, to help them find the modifications they must translate. Thanks.

English-Spanish language file in RTF format. Date June 12 of 2002

".dbj" files examples with images. The files you view in GenGisCad's manual.

  • You can download here the "tenerife.zip" file of 2.2 Mbs, perfectly scaled and georeferenced. The directory where these files must be placed, has to be "\My documents\GenGisCad", if you don't place it in this directory, you will only have to fill up again the image's manager, indicating the directory where the images are. The reason is that the program works with absolute directories. Read the manual which is placed in the manuals page if you have any doubt.

  • You can download here the "madrid.zip" file. of 7 Mbs, which is not scaled neither georeferenced but contains many images perfectly united.

Modifications at date monday, June 12 of 2002

  • We present the new update v1.6, and we have changed the program's name for "GenGisCad", (CAD/GIS General). We still want to keep it totally free.

  • Crossair's size until 300 pixels. Menu conf/Program's options/General page.

  • Use and personalization of the pocket's pc 8 buttons. Page "Keys" in the "Conf/Program's options" menu. (Right now there are 12 configufrable orders, in a near future all the orders will be put).

  • Only one position for 9 tool bars. The position of the tool bars are disposed as an array of 3*3, being able to move by them with the pocket's "pad" keys, (always that you don't touch their configuration. Which is an allowed thing). In the next image you can view how the tool bars are disposed.

  • Inclusion of 6 tool bars with all the most common orders in a CAD.

  • Each bar includes its position in the array, on a button at the right side, that also includes a floating menu to have the possibility of selecting a bar with out touching the "pad".

  • Full screen. The program's title and the initial menu is taken off , also the bottom menu bar, and the SIPs, (keyboard or ocr).

  • You can change between full screen and screen with start menu and bottom menu with only one key configured by the user. (there are options that are still on the popup menus, and to access them, it must be done with full screen deactivated).

  • You can hide or view the only bar with only one button that can be configured by the user.

  • When the crossair appears, when selecting objects or drawing some entity,(if it's configured this way in the "keys" page of the "Conf" menu), 4 marks also appear, (small squares as the selection one), at a configurable distance from the crossair, and with a configurable size. Each of this small squares represent a virtual button. If you press with the pencil inside these squares, an order configured by the user is executed. This gives us an amazing speed when we draw or select, and also to develop zooms or pan. (They can be activated or deactivated, and also view or not, for experts). (The GIF image at the begining of this page shows how to use this new system)

  • Until now, the zoom+ and zoom- setting the centre of the screen as the point from it was developed . In other words, this means that after developing a zoom+ or zoom-, the central point was the one that maintained its position. Now, if there is an activated order, and the crossair is viewed, when a zoom+ or zoom- is developed, the position where the crossair is, will be the center of the new window, after developing the zoom. With this , it's very quick to acces a concrete zone. (You can view an example in the moving GIF at the begining of this page).

  • The default configuration hardware keys are:

    • Pocket's key 1, (from left to right): Zoom +

    • Pocket's key 2, (from left to right): Zoom -
    • Pocket's key 3, (from left to right): View/Hide main bar
    • Pocket's key 4, (from left to right): Set/Quit full screen.
    • Pad's left side arrow key: move the active bar to the one more at the left side, in the array. In the case of being the first column, it will pass to the third column.
    • Pad's arrow up key: Move the active bar to the one more at the top , in the array. in the case of being heather's first one, it will pass to the third heather.
    • Pad's right side arrow key: move the active bar to the one more at the right side , in the array. In the case of being the one in the third column, it will pass to the first column.
    • Pad's down arrow key: move the active bar to the one more at the bottom , in the array. In the case of being the one in the third column, it will pass to the first column.

  • known bug: There are some times when you switch off the pocket and you start it again, or you synchronize with the PC, you loose the screen, staying something a litle dirty on screen. The solution is using the full screen button.

  • Thanks to Julio, Gatch, Aris, Boqueron, "tecno" , (they started this), for making this forum possible and for helping in the progress of this CAD, which we want to be a FREE standard.

  • Thanks to our friend Fernando Calvo Herranz, german resident, today we can present a new update of GenGisCad's program with the languages file translated to german. Thanks Fernando.

Modifications at Date Saturday, May 18 of 2002

  • We did not think in developing this program until a few months, but I have found some time and I have developed a modification, which I think will improve the performance of many users. Set the screen's background colour in the wanted colour. Specially black colour, so you can view in better conditions the draw. I think it was necessary, because even I had problems to recognize entities. I hope you enjoy it, and you must thank people as boqueron, aris and gatch ;). If you have time have a look at the forum,My Pocket PC, and vote for a engineering forum dedicated to the pockets pc, in the suggestions section. Thanks.

  • You can now modify the screen's background colour, and the colour of the "selection box". As you view on the next images.

    Enjoy it!

Modifications at Date Thursday, May 2 of 2002

  • Thanks to Patrick EMIN's unselfishly help, in whose page we can find a lot of interesting information for CAD users, http://www.afitec.com, we have a new language file "English -> French", for the GenGisCad program.

Modifications at Date Monday, February 11 of 2002

  • Today we present the GenGisCad's manual translation in ITALIAN, thanks to our friend Lucio Omiccioli. You can download it in the "Manuals" page.

Modifications at Date Saturday, February 9 of 2002

  • Today the ProcadGP'S manual translation has been finished. It's avalaible in the "Manuals" page.

Modifications at Date Friday, January 26 of 2002

  • GPS Functionality has been included in the GenGisCad v1.6 program, with which you will be able to develop any Moving map and data taking in field with GPS operation, as if you did it from the ProCadGPS program. AND ALL OF THIS IS FREE!!!

  • To manage all the new options you will have to read the ProCadGPS's manual, because it's done the same way as in that program. Every option of saving points, roots, etc, are the same as the ones used in the ProCadGPS program. Enjoy it.

  • When you select the option "File/GPS functionality" the menu will change, seting the new options of gps managing. If you don't want those options, you will have to press again on this option, so that it will disappear from the menu.

Modifications at date Monday, January 21 of 2002

  • This update comes obligated due to ProCadGPS's update, in where we have included the possibility to develop surveying marines, including a second device , as the sounder, to pick up the depth.

  • Now, four new variables can be included when we create a point, they are; &DATE,&TIME,&DGPS and &TGPS. The two first ones will insert in the point's code , the compaq's date and hour, respectively, and the two seconds will insert the date and hour coming from any of the GPS's NMEA messages.

All of this, about introducing variables in the code will be enlarged for other things, and makes us understand why this program is also a GIS. When we are developing marine surveyings, and the z that the sounder gives us is the definitive z, we will have to correct these tide's and wave's Zs from that day, and that is why the variables are included, so it can be done automatically. Obviously, with GenGisCad we can use these variables, the same way, to insert the compaq's date and hour, in the code, when we fix a point.

Modifications at Date Saturday, January 5 of 2002

  • We present the new GenGisCad's 1.4 version with many novelties.More complete Image management, better image view, speed in the calculations , automatic installation in the pocket and it's still free.;).

  • I don't explain here all the new options, cause we have also finished the manual, in spanish and in english. You can download it from the manuals page and study it to take your conclusions . The manual has 100 pages, with images and examples. Complete enough, so you can take the maximum of the program. Have a look at the manuals page. "Manuals".

  • And finally, this company's new product has been taken out, "ProCadGPS v1.0", which is a gps navigator program, surveying, ,etc with which we make a comertial bet. Depending on this program's comertial result, we will follow the present freeware line for the GenGisCad program . Go to the program's page, have a look at it, try it, and study it to buy it only for 90 dolars, (99 euros), all.

  • Due to an Italian friend, Lucio Omiccioli, we have the language file "English_Italian.Ing". I thank him from here for the effort.

Modifications at Date Thursday, November 29 of 2001

  • Due to a portuguese friend, Jose Cascais, we already have the "Readme.txt" file in portuguese, and he has also been a few hours translating the "English_Spanish.Ing" file to portuguese, so we have a new language for the program, English_Portuguese.Ing". I thank him here for the effort, and cheer more people like him to translate it . It is very easy, and we all take advantage;).

Modifications at Date Thursday, November 22 of 2001

  • Today the 1.3 version of the GenGisCad's program, has been finished, and it's free. The most important novelty is the program's complete internationalitation. "Ing" language files can be created. We have developed the "English_Spanish.Ing" file, that will work as an example to help us translate the program to any other language. To load the wanted language, you go to the "Conf" menu, select the "Language file"option, and a dialog box will appear to introduce the wanted file, and you will see how the inmedietly below menus , will change to the language the file contains. As we see in the image.

  • To create your own language, you must know you need a text editor to write in Unicode, (in Wordpad it can be perfectly done), because the file's format is "Unicode text". Lets suppose we want to translate it to French, for what I would copy the "English_Spanish.Ing" file that comes with the installation with the name "English_French.Ing". After, I would open the file, and I would edit the second line of each text that appears. The file is separated in sections, and each section has two texts in each of the wanted languages.

The first two lines "1= English language" and "2= French language", will determinate what will be placed in the menu. After this, the sections start. The indicative of a section starting is an asterisk and a number "*1", "*2", etc. It must be taken in consideration that in the section "*1" the texts can't exceed 128 characters, and in the other sections you can not exceed 32 characters. If you exceed the specified characters, the program will give an error and will swith off

    1= English language
    2= Spanish language
    *1 // String table
1.The file was modified. Do you want save it?
1.El archivo se ha modificado. ¿Quiere grabarlo?
    2.Error trying write the file
2.Error al intentar escribir el fichero

The numbers are important, and must not be touched. What you have to do is translate the second line, viewing the first one, to know what you must put. This is the best system, and the reason why we have putted two languages in each file, so that you don't have to search in another file. There can only be two languages per file. there can't be an empty line. At the file's end two asterisks must be putted"**".

If you translate a file to a language we don't have, please send it to me, so I can put it for everyone. I'm waiting for you to send me the language files.

  • We have corrected an error there was when objects were selected. The selection was duplicated.

  • We have included the possibility to activate or deactivate "Orto". This will make the lines we are going to make, indicate a perpendicular orientation to the orto's anle selected. Obviously, also an angle for the ortho can be selected.

    • If you select an entity, and then you use the order of the "Conf" menu, "orto's angle", the program will suppose that you want the orientation to be the same as the selected entity, being important the point with which you selected the entity, because, if the entity is an arc, then the orientation will be the tangent to the arc by the nearest extreme to the pressed point. It works with lines, arc and polylines. It is also possible that in the active selection in that moment there are various entities, then, the program will suppose you want the angle of the last selected entity, (if it's a line, arc, or polyline, if not, the program will search in the selection until it finds any of these entities). So, select the entity from where you want the angle, and then press in this option.

    • In the case of not having an active selection or that in the selected elements there are not lines, neither arcs, neither polylines, then a dialog box will open , in where you can introduce an azimuth you want as orto's angle.

When you use the "Orto's angle" order, and it's changed, the "Orto's angle changed" will appear in the messages line.

  • Now the texts can be drawn with an angle specified by the user,( also, you are allowed to set the height and the angle, directly on the screen). You can also select a certain style for the texts, and if it's black, italic or underlined.

  • When a dxf file is created or when it's imported, it admits the text's angle. The ProCadFormat has also been modified in this way.

Modifications at Date Tuesday, November 13 of 2001

  • As popular petition, two new options have been created in the GenGisCad's for the pocket pc "File" menu, "Import DXF" and "Export DXF", with which you will be able to develop the same operations than with the "ProCadFormat" program from the pocket. This is because there are many people that can not have the Windows NT/2000/XP operating system, and we want everyone to have the possibility to use it. The only problem, ( that was why we developed the transformation program in the pc), is that you will have to copy the DXF file to the pocket, so you can import it. (but after you can erase it).

  • It has been included a "Readme.txt" help file in every program's zip, with the basic steps to follow for the installation, in english and in spanish.

Modifications at Date Monday, November 12 of 2001

  • We present the new ProCadFormat v1.0 program, with which DXF files can be transformed in GenGisCad's DBJ, and vice versa. It can only be executed in Windows NT/2000/XP because it is prepared to support the Unicode format of language internationalization. I'm sorry for those that don't have this operating system, but the pocket pc obligates working in Unicode, and I have not been able to perform the needed changes to create the program in Windows 95/98/ME, (if this is possible).

Once we have decompressed the zip, you only have to execute the installation program, "Install.exe". It's still free.

  • The entities that can be imported/exported from autocad, are lines, polylines, (2d and 3d), points, arcs, circles, texts and blocks, but they can not yet be imported in the pocket , the dim, I mean the acotations, the splines, solids, faces3d, ellipsoids, etc. But in the future it will be possible. Patience.

  • You will have noticed that the texts don't maintain at chosen orientation, and this is because when this entity was developed it was not done, that is why texts can't be set at a determinated angle, but it will be possible. Patience. ;)

  • We have also corrected, in GenGisCad, a few problems there was with the environment, when zoom extensions were performed.

Modifications at Date Monday, November 8 of 2001

  • We present a GenGisCad's update that includes a new entity, the block, and its corresponding management, in properties and in erasing. Three new options , "Create block", "Insert block" and "Block's manager". We have taken off the ask Z and ask XYZ buttons, to put two new buttons, "Insert block" and "Create block". The options of asking the coordinates, are in the "Ref" popup menu.

We need to create this entity to finish the program that transfers from DXF to DBJ and DBJ to DXF, because the blocks in any good aided disigning system, are very important.

  • Soon, three or four days, we will present the program that transforms DXF files and vice versa. This program will go in the PC, because we consider it's better to perform the transformation in the computer,so its more comfortable.

  • We also put today, the program for every processor, SH3, MIPS and ARM, but I must tell that it has not been tried with MIPS neither with SH3, so we don't know how it will work . We have not been able to try it, beacuse right now we only have ARM, but none of the rest, so if there is something wrong, we will correct it in future versions. We will surely have to make some modification, but I hope it will work ;).

  • As a petition of some user, we have included the mfcce300.dll libraries for each of the processors, in case you don't have them, but I must tell you the program works in WindowsCE 3.0 or lower.

Modifications at Date Monday, November 5 of 2001

  • We present GenGisCad as aided designing system for the Pocket PC. Read the guide and download the program reading the instructions, that appear in the Readme.txt file, for the installation.
